Online Casino Or Real World Casino?
With the rise in popularity of the online casino, many proponents of the land-based casino understandably feel a little bit threatened. After all, online casinos are one of the fastest growing industries on the Internet today, and they have enjoyed a steady growth since its beginnings, becoming a multi billion-dollar industry.
Nevertheless, many polls show that most gamblers still prefer playing in a real casino as opposed to an online one. In a study conducted recently, only 5% of the respondents preferred an online casino. The same study also showed that only 3% felt that an online casino offered a secure playing environment, and only 1% felt that an online casino was more interesting than a land based casino.
Conversely, 20% of the respondents felt that a “real” casino was much safer, and up to 42% preferred to gamble in land based establishments.
The figures may change in the future–online casinos are after all still in its relative infancy–but for now, it appears that land based casinos still command a significant share of the casino market over their online counterparts.
